Nerdversity Reviews: Matchbox Thunderbirds Rescue Pack

Matchbox released this Thunderbirds Rescue Pack in 1992. The cover features artwork based on Steve Kyte's artwork from the Fleetway comics. The cover is bright and colourful with some dynamic action on the Vehicles.

Opening the box, all 4 Thunderbird machines and FAB 1 are visible in their own marked sections in the box. The 5,4,3,2,1 THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO! motif continues on the bottom edge of the box, as well as the International Rescue insignia.

The inside lid of the box has some Steve Kyte inspired artwork taken directly off the individual toys. It has a picture of each Tracy and a small bio of the characters and the Thunderbird craft they pilot.

The back of the box continues with the Steve Kyte artwork, but this time adds the copyright information from 1992 and also an advert for the Electronic Tracy Island Playset, that was notoriously hard to get back in the 90s.

The craft in their individual trays. We will be reviewing these indvidually. This set retails on the secondary market for about £40 for a decent condition set
