Nerdversity Reviews: Imaginext Power Rangers Putty Patrol 3 Pack

This is by far the oddest thing we've ever reviewed for Nerdversity 101. This is the Fisher-Price Imaginext Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Putty Patrol 3 pack. Released in 2015, the package is bright yellow with a large MMPR logo in the right hand corner underneath a graphic of the red ranger in Imaginext style. The rest of the package is open showing all 3 putty patrollers.

The back of the packaging is bright and colourful, showing a large graphic of the Power Rangers, the Megazord and their zords vs. Goldar and Rita. Next to that is a brief explanation to the Power Rangers series and then what appears to be pre-production samples of the putty patrollers, with them in silver paint, rather than grey. Underneath that we have a run down of what other toys we can find in the MMPR Imaginext toy line.

All 3 Patoller figures are exactly the same, so we'll take a look at a single one. The figure stands about 2 inches tall, much like a similar galactic heroes or adventure heroes figure. It's painted entirely in a dull grey colour, much like the show and has sparse other paint apps, mainly and off white for the belt and black for the eyes and stomach striping. There's not much detailing on the figure itself, all of it in the head sculpt, which features a molded out of clay/putty head, which looks great. He has 5 points of articulation, moving at the head, shoulders and hips.

This set is a pretty good addition to any Imaginext and Power Rangers collection. Children will love having extra enemies for their Imaginext Power Rangers to fight. If you can find this set, pick it up if you can, you won't be disappointed. Though, your mileage may vary.
