Nerdversity Discussion: DC Comics and Sexual Harassment

DC Comics is currently undergoing radical shifts amongst it's ranks. Reported yesterday was Vertigo being reshuffled round and it's president, Shelly Bond has been fired. In this major shake up, Vertigo employees will report directly do Dan Didio and Jim Lee, but this reshuffle isn't the only thing that's opened a major can of worms in the DC offices.

After this news had hit, it didn't take long to reveal from ex-staffers that there's still a lot of skeletons in the closet at the DC offices. Namely, one of their biggest editors, Eddie Berganza has a massive HR file for sexual harassment. This source came from Alex Di Campi, who has written about her experiences on writing for Wonder Woman. A more condensed version of her blog post can be found here.

These events have been happening as far back as 2011 and 2012, depending on who you ask. The DC editors know what's going on and yet the question remains, how and why has he escaped justice for this long? One thing's for sure, fans have fought back against DC. Numbers are starting to fall and subscriptions are down as well. I think this might mark a change at DC's offices.
