Nerdversity Reviews: Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff

Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff is a freemium town building sim developed by TinyCo and released by Fox Interactive in 2014.  It was written by Seth McFarlane and contains new material. The plot revolves around Family Guy being cancelled again, Fox holds a meeting in Quahog. The new  president is revealed to be Ernie the Giant Chicken. He gets into a fight with Peter which destroys the entire town.

The game begins on a tutorial on how to play the game. The quests are short and simple, only taking a few seconds to unlock Chris, Quagmire and Bonnie. From there on out, it becomes a freemium game where you get to rebuild Quahog your way. Like all Freemium Town Builders, it's all about keeping the income flowing, buying buildings, getting premium currency to buy premium characters to get more income.

My real complaint with this one is that some of the craft items needed take forever to drop and don't always drop first time round. Most people will get frustrated and spend the premium currency to get the items, however, the longevity is there in the events, premium event characters, costumes and more.

Fans have complained that it takes too long to finish quests, in game items are too expensive, repetitive dialogue and that items take too long to drop. Many people have even called it a direct rip off of The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff is out now on all mobile devices
