Nerdversity Reviews: Peanuts - Snoopy's Town Tale

In 2015, Activision teamed up with Pixowl to create a mobile app for both android and iOS,  based on the recent Peanuts movie. The game, Peanuts: Snoopy's Town Tale is a freemium city building game that allows players to build their own thriving Peanuts world, complete with iconic locations and characters from both the comics and the movie.

The game is an isometric perspective with the character sprites being in 2D with a CG look to them like the movie was. Based on Garfield: Survival of the Fattest, players guide a variety of characters through their world, sending them on jobs to to earn money and resources. Players can then use the money and resources to build new items to upgrade their storage, get new areas to unlock and more besides.

There's also a whole variety of scenarios and characters for players to enjoy, be it playing baseball, skating on the frozen pond, watching Charlie Brown try and kick the football or rescue his kite from a tree, it's all here.

As this is a freemium game, you can unlock everything if you're willing to grind hard enough to get the premium currency, in this case, dollar bills to unlock the premium characters, speed up tasks, buy premium items or in some cases, buy items you're missing. However, if you choose not to grind, you can buy premium currency for real cash.

The game is available now through your device's app store. If you're a fan of town building sims and love Peanuts, this game is for you. Despite being based on the movie, it's got everything we know and love about the Peanuts world and there's more to come.
