Nerdversity Reviews: Taito Legends Power Up

Taito Legends was released for the Sony PSP in 2006, It's a collection of 21 games from Taito's arcade library that space 20 years worth of games of all kinds and contains:
  • Alpine Ski
  • Balloon Bomber
  • Cameltry
  • Chak 'N Pop
  • Crazy Balloon
  • Elevator Action
  • Fairyland Story
  • KiKi KaiKai
  • Kuri Kinton
  • Legend of Kage
  • Lunar Rescue
  • New Zealand Story
  • Phoenix
  • Qix
  • Raimals
  • Rastan Saga
  • Return of the Invaders
  • Space Chaser
  • Space Dungeon
  • Space Invaders
  • Space Invaders II
The game also had Deluxe Versions of 4 of the games on the set, Legend of Kage, Balloon Bomber, Cameltry and Crazy Balloon, which featured upgraded graphics and new extended gameplay. The collection was received pretty well from audiences, though the main complaint was simply that Double Dragon and Bubble Bobble were missing. It was later explained that they were omitted due to licensing issues. One good feature is that using the PSP 3000s feature of wireless transmission, players got send games to their friends, however they would be gone when the unit was switched off.
