Nerdversity Reviews: Super Mario Collection Wave 4 - Donkey Kong

Donkey Kong made his debut in the 1980s video game Donkey Kong and ever since then has been a mainstay adversary for the plucky plumber. He usually appears in the party games.

Donkey Kong comes on the standard wave 4 card. The card is primarily in red with the SUPER MARIO logo in the upper right hand corner with Mario jumping on the left hand side. As this is a slightly larger figure, he comes on a larger  bubble.

The card back is the same and standard among all 6 figures. It's the same red background, SUPER MARIO logo and the graphics of all 6 figures.

Donkey Kong comes in his redesigned appearance from the Donkey Kong Country games, with his red tie that has his DK initials on them. He stands about 2 inches tall and is glued to his base. The fur is sculpted on. He's posing with his arm outstretched, giving a "thumbs up" gesture, taken from Donkey Kong Country.

I paid £2 for this figure from The Works here in the UK. I found it to be worth the investment. Sure, it's not an action figure and is more akin to a shelf or desk ornament, there's plenty of DK fans out there who would love their own figure on their shelf.
