Nerdversity Reviews: Tesco Ice Age Collision Course Activity Pack

Ice Age was a family comedy set in the prehistoric era of Earth. First released in 2002, It has since expanded to 5 movies, 5 shorts and 2 TV specials. The 5th Movie, Collision Course will be released in a few weeks time.

As early promotion for the movie, Tesco Opticians are working with Fox to bring a series of Ice Age themed frames to their stores aimed exclusively at children. Also, they are giving away free activity packs.

The bag itself is a collectible gift bag that features a variation on the poster on the front, featuring all the characters from The Herd on it. There's a little ICE AGE COLLISION COURSE logo in the bottom left. The back of the bag features Scrat in his space suit, while there's a marketing blurb about the glasses and calling a specific number to make an appointment.

Inside, we have 2 pairs of 3D glasses. One pair is for adults, the other is for children. They come packaged in a reusable baggie. They're attached to a card that has movie artwork on the front and more sales on the back asking parents to book an eye appointment for themselves and their children, as it's free, The arms feature the ICE AGE logo.

The final piece of the activity pack is the activity book itself. The front cover artwork features Scrat in his space suit and his acorn. The inside of the book is only 4 or 5 pages that feature colouring sheets and basic puzzles.

This pack is available for free, while stocks last, from all Tesco Opticians. All you have to do is ask. A great little pack for the kids. I think an addition to this pack should have been a pack of felt pens or crayons, as they would have further enhanced the value of the pack. It relies on either buying a set of felt pens or crayons, or the parent actually owning a set already for their kids. However, that is slightly offset by the inclusion of the 3D glasses, which is a big bonus.
