Nerdversity Reviews: Thundercats 2012 Mumm-Ra's Storm Charger

Unlike the first year toys which only had the one large vehicle, the year 2 line had 2 large vehicles that were available to fans and collectors.

The Storm Charger is Mumm-Ra's personal transport used in the 2011/2012 series. The box is the same size as the Thundertank and features the Storm Charger racing away from an explosion. The front of the box runs down all the features of the vehicle.

The back of the box shows the Storm Charger, as well as a run down of the features again. The bottom of the box shows the Thundertank and the other figures in the year 2 line up,

The Storm Charger measures about 10 inches long. It has a sculpted face on the front, as well as the twin snakes on the cockpit. The 2 nose pieces have molded on snake details too. It's painted in black, red and grey paint.

Lifting the head, which is the cockpit, allows you to place the Mumm-Ra figure inside. Collecting the Thunder Lynx port activates lights and sounds. The two red pyramids activate more lights and sounds, as well as turning on the battery powered motion.

The figure pack in is a solid figure of Mumm-Ra in his cloak, with his hands outstretched. he has no articulation at all and the cloak is NOT removable. There's very few paint apps, as it's red for the cloak and eyes, grey for the skin.

This is a great addition to any collection. The vehicle itself was used many times in the series and serves as the basis for the Thundertank as well. The figure might put some people off and I'm not sure if it works with all the other figures. But if you do want one, it'll set you back around £20 for a boxed one.
