Nerdversity Reviews: Thundercats Classics 6 Inch Lion-O

In 2012, Bandai launched the next wave of Thundercats Classics figures in a shrunk down form in order to keep costs down. The first one was an all new mold of Lion-O, similar to his 8 inch counterpart.

Lion-O comes in the same hanging window box as his lager counterpart. It features the large THUNDERCATS CLASSICS logo on the upper portion of the box, a window to see the figure and all the accessories within it.

The back of the card is largely the same as the 8 inch version, showing Lion-O in the same poses and with the same accessories. In the COLLECT THEM ALL banner, we can see the new 6 Inch Mumm-Ra figure and the new wave of 6 inch scale 2011 figures.

Articulation and accessories wise, he's identical to the 8 inch release. The only real difference is the face. Where the 6 inch figure had the relaxed and neutral expression, Lion-O's face here is now in a scream or a roar, face angry.

This new figure shares all the same articulation points and accessories as the 8 inch figure and even works the same way with the Claw Shield. He looks great holding his accessories and can hold them perfectly well and don't feel loose.

The figure can be hit or miss for some fans. The fact he's exact the same with a new, snarling face might be a turn off for some. As always, your mileage may vary on these figures. If you are interested in getting one, they are about £20 on the secondary market.
