Nerdversity Reviews: SDCC 2016 Thundercats Classics Thunderkittens set (Part 3)

Super 7 is currently working with Mattel to get a new line of Thundercats action figures released, Their first release was the Thunderkittens set, released at SDCC 2016.

As we looked at Kat and the packaging last time, lets get right in. Kit comes in the same tray, with all her accessories and hoverboard in the packaging.

Inside the Cat's Lair display box, we have a pair of clear plastic flight stands. They are posable and even have the Cat's head symbol on the front.

Kit stands around 6 inches tall and is modelled after her appearance in the 1980s cartoon series. She's articulated in the neck, shoulders, wrists, waist, hips, knees and ankles. None of her articulation is hindered by anything and it all moves just fine. Her pink and blue dress has creases and wrinkles in the fabric. Her belt even has molded on pellets.

Like Kat, her accessories are a hoverboard in blue with the Thundercats logo on it. She also comes with a coiled up bola rope to fit on the back of her belt and a knotted bola rope. She can hold this in her hand.

Her other accessory is a spare pair of gripping hands, with which to hold the rope. The hands pop off ever so easily and don't feel weak at all.

Everything about this figure is spot on. The design matches the TV series. The articulation is top notch. The accessories fit the figure and don't feel loose at all. Even putting the figure on the stand feels great.

This set really knockedthe ball out the park when it came to starting off the Mattel and Super 7 collection of figures. They're easily as articulated as any MOTU classics figure. If you are interested in the set, you'll have to resort to the secondary market and pay around £80 for a set.
