Nerdversity Reviews: Blades of Steel (700th Article)

Welcome dear fan and reader to our 700th review. Sports games were fairly primitive back when in the 1980s.

Blades of Steel was an ice hockey game. It was released by Konami in 1988. It came in that classic and distinct silver box. It was also an early game to feature digitised speech.

Blades of Steel was an Ice Hockey sim, but wasn't based on any license from the NHL or featured any teams. However, it did have one unique feature for the time. If a player was bashed around one too many times, they'd throw their gloves off and start a brawl on the ice. The game would switch from the Hockey sim to a brawler. The loser would be sent to a penalty box, whether they started it or not.
