Nerdversity Reviews: Bubble Bobble

Arcade puzzle games have always been a popular concept for the home consoles. Ports of these have usually sold very well.

Bubble Bobble was released by Taito in 1988. It featured the characters of Bub and Bob, a pair of dinosaurs or dragons that could spit bubbles at enemies. It was their job to traverse the Cave of Monsters and rescue their girlfriends. It was a port of the arcade game.

The game was an arcade puzzle game. Enemies needed to be trapped in the bubbles and the bubbles popped. There are over 100 levels in the game, but the true ending needed skill and the help of a second player.
