The NES had some of the most finely crafted and best RPGs in the video game world, at that time.
Faxanadu was created by Hudson Soft in 1989. It's a lesser known action RPG in the NES library and it is very often overlooked.
The game looks, plays and feels similar to Zelda II, with a side scrolling action RPG/Platformer element. The game pits the player in the shoes of an unnamed hero as he scales the world tree, where the player navigates the roots, trunk and branches.
