Kid Icarus was released by Nintendo in 1987. This was one of the first games that was considered to be "Nintendo Hard". It was developed side by side with Metroid and shares a lot of similarities with the former.
Kid Icarus sees the player put into the shoes of Pit, a fledgling winged angel who is trapped in the Underworld by Medusa. Pit must traverse the Underworld, escape to the Sky and vanquish Medusa. The game also featured a password feature, but just be careful about writing them down.
