Nerdversity Reviews: Shadowgate (NES)

So, lets begin our look at some of the best games and underrated classics for the system. Lets start then:

First up is a game called Shadowgate. It was released in 1989 by Kemco. A port of a PC/Apple Game of the same name. Kemco released a series of fiendishly difficult point and click adventure games that were all ported to the NES.

The game is played from a first person perspective, where you play a treasure seeker, after a fabled lost treasure deep in a deadly dungeon, filled with traps and monsters. Death lurks around every corner and is one of the games that defined the term: NES Hard. There was a constant battle to beat the game before you ran out of torches or time, as it would spell game over.

Definitely a classic and one to check out, especially if you enjoy classic point and click. A keen eye is needed to find those hidden secrets too.
